Hey guys,
You know what time it is! It’s Sunday and that means it’s time to dive into the week with the CrossFit Simplicity Weekly Rundown! Of course we have an awesome week for you guys, but I want to keep this short because I want to really discuss the upcoming CrossFit Open below. So without further ado, let’s look down below and get into some basic details of the 2025 CrossFit Open season this year.
2025 CrossFit Open Registration
What is the CrossFit Open: The CrossFit Open is the world’s largest participatory sporting event. It is the first stage of the CrossFit Games season when hundreds of thousands of athletes come together to complete a series of workouts over a three-week period.
Some do the Open to advance to the later stages of competition that eventually culminate in the CrossFit Games where the Fittest on Earth are crowned. But the majority of Open participants do it for other reasons — to challenge themselves, to test their fitness, or to bond with their affiliate community.
The Open workouts are accessible to everyone from the elite to the absolute beginner.
Why should I do the CrossFit Open: As a core part of the CrossFit methodology, data tracking allows us to see our improvements and know what areas to work on.
When you complete all three Open workouts, you’ll be placed on a worldwide leaderboard, allowing you to see where you rank against hundreds of thousands of other CrossFit athletes.
You can also customize your leaderboard with hashtags to see where you rank against others who share your lifestyle, profession, age, location, and more.
Additionally, you will earn a level based on your Open performance to use in the all-new Community Cup, set for June 9-15.
Will there be an Open version for me: Yes! With Foundations, Scaled, and Rx’d versions of each workout, there is a version for everyone from the absolute beginner to the elite competitor and everyone in between.
When is the CrossFit Open: February 27th through March 17th. This year there are three workouts, one workout per week. These are announced Thursday evening, and you will have until Monday evening to submit your scores.
What about the CrossFit Simplicity Move: have no fear, we will make sure that our move the end of this month does not affect your ability to complete the first open workout. Rest assured, we are as interested and excited about the 2025 CrossFit open as you guys!

The Open gives us a chance to test ourselves across a wide variety of domains and show us where we currently stack up with our past selves, and shows us how we need to improve in the future! You guys get signed up!!
You guys enjoy what’s left of your weekend and get plenty of rest, relaxation, and recovery so we can hit it hard this week. See you all in class!
