CFS Weekly Rundown (10/28-11/2)

Hey guys,

It’s Sunday here in Burlington, North Carolina and it’s a little dreary out…not dreary enough to stop the release of this week’s CrossFit Simplicity Weekly Rundown! You guys have been absolutely powering through our base camp 2.0 program and it is finally coming to an end. This week we will be primarily testing, and then starting a new cycle the week after that. This is some exciting stuff and we can’t wait to see How everyone does in class. The NBD guys have also been paying attention to some weaknesses and have designed the next phase of this program to address those and help us move to the next level! Be on the lookout in next weeks, rundown for the details on the layout of the new program!

In the meantime, here’s the general layout for next week and beyond:

We just finished Week 24 of Basecamp 2.0 so give yourself a pat on the back! We are going to do a one week “testing” block that has metcon tests MWFSat and then tests for aerobic power on Tuesday and capacity on Thursday.

The tests are going to be open style tests – no goals listed and good tests of general fitness / CrossFit.

The plan is to run a 6 week block to start off the prep phase until Christmas, then deload during the holidays and retest the tests from this week. Then we’re going to run the rest of prep phase through the Open. It’s going to be great!

Since we started this NBD programming over a year ago now, we have seen some dramatic improvement in you all and everyone’s general level of fitness. Skills and strength have been increasing, as well as aerobic performance. Remember that we don’t just want to practice doing CrossFit, we want to train to become better at CrossFit. That’s the key that the programming has unlocked for us and it’s certainly been a game changer. Remember to stay focused, listen to your coaches, ask questions if you have them, and do your best to hit every day as it is designed to get the most out of your training. I hope everyone had an awesome weekend and is excited about testing this week and then getting into a new phase before the holidays. Now enjoy what’s left of your weekend and get plenty of rest, relaxation, and recovery so we can hit it hard this week. See you all in class!
